Ballantine Chain Assemblies Overview

 

Ballantine offers one of the largest selection of Trencher Chain Assemblies

Cup Cutter Assemblies:

  • 2 Pitch ( every second)  4 Pitch (every fourth)
  • Depending on the size of chain, Cup Cutter Assemblies can be set up to cut a trench from 4 to 40 plus inches.
  • Cutting width is determined by actual chain width and the use of adapters or expansion blocks. 
  • Work best in soft to medium soil conditions.
  • 4 Pitch assemblies work in soft to medium soils and are best in sticky soil conditions.
  • 2 Pitch chains have twice as many tooth attaching points Vs. 4 Pitch chains of the same length – therefore  a fully assembled 2 Pitch chain has twice as many cup cutters.     
 

Terminator Combo Bolt-on Assemblies

  • Built in all chain styles (1.654” - 4.5”) from 4” to 18” (plus) width cut.
  • Full length hardware
  • Full tube spacers
  • Low profile cup cutters that match profile of Terminator® carbides.
  • Terminators breakup, protect cups & remove some spoil, cups remove the majority of the spoil.
  • Designed to be a combination chain that will work best in soft to hard soils and will also work in low PSI rocky soils. 

 

Full Terminator Bolt-on Assemblies

  • Built in all chain styles (1.654” - 4.5”) from 4” to 18” (plus) width cut.
  • Full length hardware
  • Full tube spacers
  • Terminator® carbides.
  • Chain will work in hard to low PSI rocky soils and will also work in medium soils.
  • Allows user flexibility – I.e. (Take off Terminators and add cups) 

 

Terminator Welded Assemblies

  • Built in all chain styles (1.654” - 4.5”) from 4” to 18” (plus) width cut.
  • Fully welded (no hardware)
  • Terminator® carbides.
  • Low profile chain
  • Chain is most efficient in hard and low PSI rocky soils and will also work in medium soils.
  • Very popular with rental stores, ultimate in durability and is low maintenance. 

Full Rock & Frost Bolt-on

  • Built in cutting widths 4” to 18” (plus)
  • 1.654” to 4.5” Chains
  • Full length hardware
  • Full tube spacers
  • TrenchAll® Chains - flat & lock washers
  • Hard, rocky or frozen ground – offers increased penetration
  • Offers customer flexibility 

Welded Alligator 

  • Built in all chain sizes and widths up to 12 plus inches
  • Very aggressive assembly designed to handle the most extreme conditions
  • Ideal for rock and frozen ground situations
  • Built on low profile chain
  • Built in dirt relief to prevent binding 

 

Welded H-Plate

  • Very aggressive assembly designed for the most sever ground conditions
  • Built on low profile TrenchAll®chain
  • Protected pockets
  • Built in dirt drags
  • Ideal for rock & frost soil conditions, but will also work in softer soils due to H-plate design  

 

Full Kerf Assemblies

  • Can be built on 1.654” to 4.5” pitch chain
  • Built from 4” to 16” (plus)
  • Bolt-on “over-the-top” or “saddle” rock & frost assembly
  • Very aggressive assembly that offers a lot of customer flexibility in terms of width, change to other bolt-on attachments etc.  
  • Combination of Kerf bolt-on adapters (1/3) and cups (2/3)
  • Carbides fracture & breakup, cups remove spoil for increased production & finished trench wall cut.
  • Ideal for hard & medium soil conditions and will work in soft and low PSI rocky soils.
