Ballantine Scraper Chain Overview

There are two chains per machine. They are located on each side of the hopper.  These also must be timed when installed. Other wise you will not be able to install the flights.  On John Deere there is a left side chain and a right side chain, on all other machines the chains are the same.

Standard Chain

Ballantine’s standard duty chain line is a direct replacement for the OEM chain.  This is Ballantine’s most economically priced offering. Consistently out performs comparable OEM chains. All chain component are heat treated for long life.

Heavy Duty Chain

Ballantine’s heavy duty chains have larger components than the standard chain line.  The roller blocks are wider giving, more bushing to sprocket contact displacing more torque to the chain.  Roller block side plates are taller than the standard giving more wear surface to the roller block increasing the life of the chain.

Joint Sealed Chain

The primary reason for a sealed joint chain is to obtain longer component life, meaning longer chain life. The sealed joint chain has a polymeric seal on each side of the roller block and is filled with a high quality industrial lubricant.  The seal is seated with the connecting pin which prevents foreign matter from entering the internal roller and bushing.
